A low self esteem comes from filling the mind with negative thoughts about yourself, and them becoming so familar that they become beliefs that drive out view of our worth and value. To build self esteem we need to create new thought patterns about ourselves that change those negative beliefs to positive beliefs about our worth. Often this means breaking an old habit and starting a new thinking pattern. A very effective way to do this is to think and speak positive affirmations regularly.

Your mind is a garden. The unconscious processes and thoughts that inhabit your thinking dictate your self-image, and hence your feelings and actions. The way to overcome old programming that is no longer helpful to us is to take conscious control of our brain.

In other words, by taking deliberate control over our thoughts we can start to plant better seeds in our gardens that over time when watered with daily care will eventually blossom into colorful flowers.
