The first step in building self esteem is to be able to understand yourself. How can you begin to like yourself until you understand something about who you are as a person? By knowing weaknesses it enables you to plan to improve those areas. As you see improvement in your life it builds your self esteem.
So how do you develop your self esteem? It is getting to know yourself and believing and accepting yourself for who you are. You have a choice as to what you believe, and you can choose not to believe the negative self talk that bombards your mind. Start celebrating your uniqueness, and choose to believe that you are lovable,competent and valuable just the way you are.
